My mac has agree copy of MalwareBytes, but no RTS scanning as I don't want to payfor subscription, to be honest.
#CLAMXAV ALTERNATIVE FREE#
HOW do I get a free anti-cirus that works on my NAS,or is it try that I don't need one? And if I don't need one, how am I supposed to protect the NAS from ransomware and other QNAP/NAS virus, malware and so on? I read about possibly installing Linux antivirus via Entware, but that's not compatible with QTS Malware Remover, and Im hopeless at linux-unix command lines and have zero patience for screwwing with it either, prefer a GUI, faster and simpler.
#CLAMXAV ALTERNATIVE UPDATE#
Ther is no ClamXAV in the App Center website, I cant update using the NAS QTS App Center as my mac and NAS are connected to the router via wi-fi, as its not my router, I share my internet with others.
I tried updating the built-in (ClamXAV) antivirus using a main.cvd file from ClamXAV website, it hangs on the file being installed/updated into the NAS

Answer (1 of 5): MacUpdate is the only Mac app resource that offers the most complete and up to date listings of Mac apps - the Mac App Store only has about of the apps we list, and many of those are crappy or abandoned apps. I tried building with the options from ClamXav article you referenced below but it was no help. The error only happens when trying to run it. configure is happy and make generates a lot of warning but no errors. I've attempted defining MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=10.9 as described in that article but that didn't make a difference (nor am I seeing anything else defining it to 10.10 so I didn't expect it make a difference). This article ( ) seems to describe the issue but a lot of it is beyond me. > Various articles I've found are pointing to an issue with libtool where 10.10 gets treated as if it's 10.1. But I just upgraded my server from 10.9 to 10.10 and with today's relase of 0.98.7, this was my first time attempting to build ClamAV under Yosemite. This happens with both 0.98.6 and 0.98.7 when built on Yosemite (my version of 0.98.6 built on 10.9 ran fine on 10.10).
